What is Hyvä Checkout?

Hyvä Checkout is a checkout for Magento 2 made by the Hyvä team. Instead of Luma's Knockout.js single-page application, it renders the checkout on the server with Magewire, a Livewire-style component framework for Magento, and uses Alpine.js for small interactions. It loads much faster than the default checkout and is far easier to customise.

Because checkout is where revenue is won or lost, we treat it as a conversion project, not just an install: fewer fields, clear delivery and payment choices, strong error handling and fast loading on mobile.

No. The Hyvä theme has been free since November 2025, but Hyvä Checkout is a separately licensed product: Hyvä lists it at €1,000 one-time per Magento installation, with an optional support and updates plan from the second year. Since November 2025 it no longer requires a paid theme licence. Our implementation services are separate from the licence fee.

Hyvä Checkout is designed for Hyvä storefronts. If you are still on Luma, we usually migrate the theme and the checkout together.

Most major providers, including Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Mollie and Klarna, offer Hyvä Checkout support. We check every payment and shipping method you use during the audit.

Yes. Steps, fields and validation are built as Magewire components, so custom requirements such as B2B fields or delivery slots are much simpler than in the Luma checkout.

Yes, our annual maintenance plan includes a Hyvä Checkout implementation within a defined scope. The licence fee is excluded.
